Your journey through our Discipleship Training School (DTS) will impact you in many ways, from learning dynamic, Godly principles day by day, to the overall process of God redefining who you are and how you can work hand in hand with Him in Pittsburgh and to the ends of the Earth. You will see God's power and grace displayed like never before as you bring the message of hope to the world. The DTS is not just an entryway program into the expansive field of YWAM, it’s a life-altering transformation process. When you devote these 5 months to the Lord, He enriches everything about your heart, life & ministry. You will never be the same!

The Wild Hearts DTS aims to prepare messengers of the gospel, helping students to know God in depth. We will focus on sustaining authentic relationships, redefining the Christian life and equipping you to do forefront evangelism. 

This intensive training course begins with a 12 week “lecture phase” followed by a 8 week “outreach phase” overseas. 

The Lecture Phase

The three month lecture phase is a time for intense discipleship. We supply a vivacious environment for you to grow in passion, relationships, character and understanding. Our local and international speakers come with their wisdom and will impart their lives and lessons to you. Aside from time in lecture (some contents listed below), the course will include daily devotions and time alone with God, corporate worship, intercession, work duties, local outreaches, one-on-one and group times with one of your leaders and of course time with fellow students and staff to make a multitude of priceless memories.

Biblical Worldview & Apologetics

Destiny by Design- Finding God's Purpose For Your Life 

World Missions- Taking the Gospel to the Nations

Cross Cultural & Forefront Evangelism

And many more...

The Wild Heart DTS will also study Christian rights around the world, including the right to assemble, the right to practice religion, the right to free speech and the right to do evangelism.

The Outreach Phase

Once training is completed, you and your team will begin a two month outreach in the nation(s) of God’s choosing using various methods of evangelism. This dynamic and life changing adventure will allow you to bring the love and reconciliation of Jesus to a lost and hurting world.

Students from around the globe have graduated from YWAM Pittsburgh’s DTS. Their outreaches have stretched the many nations including Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Liberia, Ghana, Israel, Romania, Hungary, Poland, Moldova, Bulgaria, Mongolia, China, India, Thailand and South Korea, Fiji & Samoa. In each school we are led by the Lord, choosing the outreach location after much prayer and seeking Him. 

Nations Transformed by Wild Heart’s DTS Students!

We rejoice in the many salvations we’ve seen through the work of our DTS students and their staff. Since the winter of 2002, we have seen over 43,500 people make decisions for Christ through these schools alone! They have also trained many churches in dance, drama and evangelism at home and abroad and over 20 churches have been planted as a result of these outreaches. Graduates from these schools are currently serving in Poland, China, Brazil and Colombia.

The discipleship trainees of YWAM Pittsburgh graduate with a deep passion for knowing the Lord and making Him known in whatever He calls them to do. They have been equipped to share God’s love, grace and truth as they answer the call to "Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations" Matthew 28:19.
